About Me

Beacon Directory-034Hello!

My name is Mason Carpenter. I am currently a student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have been enrolled since January of 2014 and have been pursuing a Masters of Divinity for the purpose of becoming a pastor in the future. l graduated from Elon University, in December 2013, with a B.A. in Communication Science, and a Religious Studies Minor. A few things about me: I love Jesus, cooking, reading, the University of Tennessee Volunteers football, and warm, sunny days with music in the background.

Long term, I hope to be in a leadership position with a church, helping lead and direct the church to engaging the surrounding community and world with the Gospel; to bring healing, restoration, and peace to a broken world.

Since graduating from Elon University and enrolling at SEBTS, I have been employed as a security guard with Sunstate Security in Raleigh, NC; as a Youth Ministry Intern with Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC; an assistant football coach for the Hickory Grove Christian School Lions in Charlotte, NC; as a delivery driver and shop assistant for The Hardwood Store of NC in Gibsonville, NC. Since June of last year, I have been working with First Baptist Church of Durham as a College Ministry Intern at The University of North Carolina. I spent the summer of 2015 raising the funds necessary for me to live and work at UNC, where I am engaged in campus ministry among the students and professionals. My primary responsibilities in this internship is the evangelism, mentoring and discipling of UNC students in the context of the local church community of FBC Durham.

My resume is here.
